The Battle of Algiers, so real yet it wasn't

The Battle of Algiers brought new light to the truth of documentaries. It showed that movies could be made to appear to be them but actually is not. With this governments or other political parties could manipulate the masses by providing a false film of events. Even with saying this I believe that The Battle of Algiers was a good movie for its time. It was in black and white even when color was around which made it seem to be more of a documentary. Adding to the documentary effect was the fact that the camera movements where shaky when filming to simulate that it was made by an average person, or a person that did not have the time to actually set up the shot. On top of those things it helped that it did not follow one person like most movies. Overall I twhought it was an intriguing movie by its showing how terrorist can operate and show a way to counteract it.
